- The sparkling usa-picturing.com winter newsletter - Updated November, 9 2009 Here are some exciting news we would like to share with our valuable members: - Hot and on the move – Winter Contest: The winter contest is now open. We already have qualified members! The principle is pretty much the same as always. 20 photo online (or more) during the contest, and you are set to qualify for the competition. Straightforward, and even easier now with the new upload engine (see below for that). It's a no brainer. Remember, "UY707" won a digital camera, "Airtrainer" won a digital video camera and "Macmaggie" won a $200 gift certificate. We will drawn a winner live from New York in late December. You now have the opportunity to win a digital photo frame. Pretty neat at that time of the year, right? Take your chance! Here is the link: http://www.usa-pictures.com/photos-of-usa-contest.asp Introducing usa-pictures.com Rewards Program: We are glad and proud to introduce the usa-pictures.com rewards program. It is unique in the industry! You will basically receive rewards ($ loaded gift card of your choice) as an incentive for being such an amazing member. That's what you are, right :) ? Now it's highly recommended to have a look here for the details: http://www.usa-pictures.com/forums/tm.asp?m=101 It's worth nothing to say that we already have various happy rewarded members, "Airtrainer" in the "SUR" Category, "ajthall" and "zoephoto" in the "SOR" Category. You could of course combine rewards and even take your chance for the Winter Contest. No question, usa-pictures.com is by far the most rewarding community around :) Revamped upload section: Yes, I know. Some may say this was a long overdue feature. That the upload section was primitive, to say the least. Not very convenient, too. And I tend to agree! Good news, Guys. It belongs to the past. We are glad to introduce a brand new upload engine. Bottom line is that you will be able to upload up to 3 photos one shot and duplicate the fields (comment, tags, location, ...) between pictures. The thing is also more aesthetic. Go ahead, give it a try: http://www.usa-pictures.com/upload/ North America / Europe representation: We now have a permanent presentation in Europe and North America. It's a good news for the community. usa-pictures.com crew is now able to screen pictures, answer email, proceed reward (to name a few) across two majors time zones location. With a community staff even closer, we are committed to serve you even better now. Our hands-one and straight approach of the community is unmatched by any other web-site. Take advantage of that, it's rare nowadays! About the Community: We are glad to welcome our new members here. We want and value your feedback. Feel free to ask any questions, and report any concern and or suggestions! Remember that you have a direct contact with us by email (contact@usa-pictures.com). After about 18 months online, the community features now 4 500+ pictures of 47 States with 1 030 000 unique views and counting. We can all be proud of that! We all have to keep this steady pace by clearing the 3 missing States by year end. And add hundreds of new photos. Don`t forget to spread this newsletter around by forwarding it to friends and relatives. - Projects and Perspectives - Geo Tagging / Geo Location: That's something we have on the pipe, and it will be focus number one for the development team. We will be able to read Geo Tags in uploaded pictures anytime soon. If you have or plan to buy a GPS enabled camera, you don't have anything special to do. We are able to strip the information right from the uploaded file. We will then locate the picture in a Google-Earth like map layer. Pretty nice way to map a road trip for example. We could even advice you as far as camera and GPS are concerned. Drop an email or use the forum. We may also be able to offer good deals on GPS devices. - Words from Editors – As always, your participation is highly appreciated. Don’t be shy; remember the “spirit” of this website: “Picturing America, all together, country wide”. We CAN do it! Sincerely, Raphaël, Anthony PAILLARD Editors
